Extra Credit Instructions/Papers can be found in the Red Extra Credit Folder at the front of the room. Project papers are placed into the folder as we learn the content.
Fourth Quarter Extra Credit:
Crusades Video: up to 20pts. - Take a questions paper from the EC Folder and answer the questions to the video off Schoology/Website.

AFTER completing all make-up assignments, turn in any homework passes for 5
pts. a piece.
Mayan Movie Questions - up to 15pts - Watch the Engineering an Empire Video: Mayans and answer the questions. Students received the questions in class. Video is posted to Schoology/Website.
Aztec Calendar Activity - up to 10pts - Color the Aztec Calendar and answer the questions on loosleaf paper.
Mayan Math: up to 10pts. - Write out by hand 1-100 in Mayan Numerals

QUARTER
Dark Ages Movie: up to 10pts. Answer the Questions that go with the Dark Ages video we were unable to watch because of snow days.
Traveling Post Card: 10pts. Traveling over Spring Break? Send Mrs. Kirsch a postcard (through the post office) from your winter travel destination. The message to me should make some correlationfrom your travels to our class.
3D Model: up to 20pts. Create a 3D model of a manor, castle, or the Church hierarchy or Feudalism pyramid. Be sure to label the parts of your model. If you choose to make it out of food you need to bring it in on the specific days - ask Mrs. Kirsch. Partners split points.
Spice Trade Routes Webquest: up to 8 pts. - Take a webquest paper from the EC Folder
and answer the questions.
Mosaic: up to 15pts. Take a Mosaic EC directions sheet from
the EC folder at the front of the room. Create a mosaic. you are welcome
to be creative with your materials.
Peer Review: up to 10pts. Switch DBQ Essays with a friend and peer review each other's paper. review and sign their name OR allow Mrs. Kirsch access to a Google Drive file share to see that you made comments.
Family Outings: 10pts Bring in a flyer from a family outing suggested to parents in the World History Newsletter. A picture of yourself at the museum would also be great!
Byzantine Empire Word Search/Crossword: Up to 5 pts. Complete the worksheet.
Justinian & Theodora Documents: Up to 10 pts. Read, Highlights and annotate the documents. Answer the questions correctly in complete sentences.
Second QUARTER
Postcard: up to 10 pts. Send Mrs. Kirsch a postcard (through the post office) from your travel desitnation. The message should be making some connection from your travels to our class.
Greek Food: up to 10pts. On 12/7(A Day) or 12/8(B Day) bring in a Greek dish to share with the class. You must attach the recipe to your food and NO RECIPES WITH NUTS ARE ALLOWED.
Greece Song and Dance: up to 20pts. Using the Greece song from class, make up a dance to go with it and videotape yourself singing and dancing. Send Mrs. Kirsch the file or link.

Columns: up
to 15pts. Take a
picture of yourself in front of the three different types of Greek Columns. Be
sure to label which column is which AND where the picture was taken.

of Pericles: up
to 8pts. Take an Age of Pericles questions sheet from the EC folder at the
front of the room. Complete the website questions.
Advertisement: up to 10pts. Bring in an advertisement that includes/makes reference to a Greek God. Explain the reference & connection it is making in a paragraph.

pts. Memorize the Greek Alphabet. Come at lunch and prove it to receive your EC
points.
Latin Today: up to 5pts. Take a
Latin translation worksheet from the EC folder at the front
of the room. Complete the worksheet.
Roman Numerals: up to 10pts. Write out the Arabic Numeral and its Roman Numeral equivalent of loose-leaf paper from 1-100. (only for students who have not done it before)
Mosaic: up to 15pts. Take a Mosaic EC directions sheet from the EC folder at the front of the room. Create a mosaic. you are welcome to be creative with your materials.
Create Your Own Coliseum: up to 25pts. Using a circular object of your choice, design a model of the Coliseum in Rome. You need to label at least 5 features to the Coliseum and have an event taking place on the arena floor.
FIRST QUARTER
Cuneiform Tablet: up to 25pts. Write three short sentences in English about the Epic of Gilgamesh, Mrs. Kirsch read to you in class. Using an online translator, translate your sentences into Cuneiform. In clay write your three sentences in cuneiform and bake your tablet until hard. Turn in the tablet and your three sentences in English on Loose-leaf paper. Take a directions sheet from the EC Folder at the front of the room for details.
Apple Mummy: up to 15pts. Make an apple mummy! Take the paper from the EC Folder for directions. Take pictures of you with your mummy or bring it in to show and tell.
Should artifacts be returned to their home country?: up to 10pts.
Take the artifacts newspaper article from the EC Folder at the front of the classroom. After reading the article, answer the questions on the back lined paper.
Paper Mache Globe: up to 15pts. Take a directions sheet from the EC folder at the front of the room. Create a globe using a balloon or a round ball. Cover it in paper mache. Paint the 7 continents green and the oceans blue. This can also be done by using a pumpkin!
Roman Numerals: up to 10pts. Write out the Arabic Numeral and its Roman
Numeral equivalent of loose-leaf paper from 1-100.
